RESOLUTION APPROVING ST. JOSEPHS AND
JOHN IRELAND SCHOOL PARKING ISSUES
WHEREAS, the Hopkins City Council may by resolution designate specific
parking issues, and
WHEREAS, pursuant thereto, the police department shall cause the posting
and maintenance of appropriate signs at the locations so
designated, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the request, the City Council feels it is necessary
for the welfare and benefit of the children and handicapped
persons to have safe and easy access to st. Josephs Church and
John Ireland School, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the request, the City Council feels it is also
necessary to reserve an area for a bus stop at the southwest
corner of 13th Avenue and Mainstreet, and to allow unrestricted
parking on the North side of Mainstreet between 13th and 14th
Avenues for the benefit of all, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hopkins,
the following mandates:
1. An area shall be reserved for an east-bound Bus stop (50') at the
southwest corner of 13th Avenue and Mainstreet.
2. Two handicap parking spaces shall be created in front of st.
Josephs Church on the South side of Mainstreet between 13th and
14th Avenue.
3. Approximately 190' of school bus parking shall be designated
beginning at the West property line of John Ireland School
proceeding Easterly on the South side of Mainstreet between 13th
and 14th Avenue. The hours of School Bus parking shall be only
between the hours of 8:30 a.m - 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 4:00
p.m. No parking shall be permitted between 2 a.m. - 6 a.m.
4. Unrestricted parking shall be allowed (except 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.)
along the North side of Mainstreet between 13th and 14th Avenues
except the area designated for a west-bound bus p.
