1991-027 o CITY OF HOPKINS RESOLUTION NO. 91-27 AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE HENNEPIN COUNTY 1991 YARD WASTE REBATE APPLICATION WHEREAS, Pursuant to Minnesota Statue 115A.551, by December 31, 1993, each county in the metropolitan area will have as a goal to recycle a minimum of 35 percent (35%) by weight of total solid waste generation, and each county must develop and implement or require political subdivisions within the county to develop and implement programs, practices, or methods designed to meet its recycling goal; and WHEREAS, Hennepin County Resolution 90-3-299 outlined the intent of the County yard waste composting program for 1990; and WHEREAS, Resolution 90-3-299 provided that cities opting to manage their own composting programs would be eligible for a County rebate; and WHEREAS, Resolution 90-3-299 states that a city will be eligible for a rebate if it has its own compost site or yard waste transfer site with arrangements for disposal from the transfer site; and o WHEREAS, Resolution 90-9-819 resolves to continue to provide rebates to municipalities for local management of yard waste in 1991; and WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins has opted to manage its own yard waste transfer site with arrangements for disposal from the transfer site in 1991; and WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins desires to receive this County Rebate; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Hopkins, City Council authorizes the submittal of the Hennepin County, 1991 Yard Waste Rebate Application.
