CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 88-8 RESOLUTION APPROVING 1987 CONTINGENCY TRANSFERS WHEREAS, the Hopkins City Council includes a contingency appropriation wi thin the annual operating budget to cover unanticipated expenditures, and, WHEREAS, the ci ty Council and City Manager make numerous expenditure decisions during each year that exceed line item appropriations, and, WHEREAS, The City Council has determined that it is appropriate to provide for major unanticipated expenditures by transferring funds from the contingency account to the expenditure accounts that were exceeded, then, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the following transfers be adopted: (1) From: 43931 (contingency) To: 40420.100 (City Mgr. - salaries) Amount - $13,000 To account for the 1987 salary adjustment of the City Manager ( 2 ) From: To: Amount - To account for 43931 (Contingency) 40600, 310, 311 (Legal) $9,000 unforseen legal expenses . (3) From: 43931 (Contingency) To: 41200.100, 141, 143 (fire) Amount - $17,600 To account for flood related expenses, to be offset to a large degree by Federal and State Aid. (4) From: 43931 (contingency) To: 41800.100,200,303 (inspections) Amount: $27,000 To account for additional personnel costs related to construction acti vi ty . Increase was offset by increased revenue collection. (5) From: 43931 (contingency) To: 40530.100 (assessing) Amount - $3,600 To account for personnel overlap costs due to retirement and maternity leave. . (6) From: To: Amount - To account for 43931 (contingency) 40940.570 (municipal building) $2,000 replacement of binding machine that broke. (7) From: 43931 (contingency) To: 41100.303 (police) Amount - $11,600 To account for expenses related to Police Organizational study (8) From: To: Amount - To account for 43931 (contingency) 41500.100, 303 (planning) $7,500 salary allocations and consultant costs TOTAL TRANSFERRED - $91,300 Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Hopkins, Minnesota at a regular meeting held the 5th day of January, 1988.
