1988-068 CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota Resolution No 88-68 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT WHEREAS, Hennepin County was given authority to plan a light rail transit system, WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins has been actively involved for many years in supporting light rail transit, and is participating in the County's current planning process, WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins feels that light rail transit would improve transit service in the city of Hopkins, and the Twin cities Metropolitan Area generally, WHEREAS, the City Council feels that light rail transit will significantly improve the quality of life in Hopkins. WHEREAS, the proposed Southwest Corridor will serve the needs of thousands of Hennepin County citizens, and can be built for a reasonable pUblic investment, NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOPKINS PROCLAIMS that it supports the efforts of Hennepin County to build a light rail transit system in the Southwest Corridor.
