AN AMENDMENT TO HOPKINS CITY CODE SECTION 200.00 SETTING
LIMITS ON TERMS OF SERVICE FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOPKINS DOES ORDAIN:
Hopkins City Code, Subsection 200.03 is amended by
adding a new subsection to read:
200.03
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

Pursuant to the authority granted the City Council in
Section 2. 02 of the Hopkins City Charter, the Council has
heretofore created certain boards and commissions
specifically a Zoning and Planning Commission in Hopkins
Code 325.01, and a Park Board in Section 335.01. The term
of office shall be as defined in the respective ordinances.
Members appointed shall serve no more than two (2)
consecutive terms of office. A member who is appointed to
fill a vacancy to a term which is less than half completed
shall be deemed to have served a full term of office. If
the appointment is to a term which is more than half
completed, the appointment shall not be deemed to constitute
a term of office for the purpose of calculating the maximum
length of service allowed herein.
First read at a regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council
on May 18, 1987 and finally read and ordered published at
the regular Council meeting of June 2, 1987.
