1987-100 o o o CITY OF HOPKINS Hennepin County, Minnesota RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT GOVERNING LOCAL GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (LOGIS) BY THE CITY OF HOPKINS Resolution No. 87-100 WHEREAS, in 1972 a number of communities of the State of Minnesota identified benefits including cost, effectiveness and efficiency of joining together to. cooperatively provide for the establishment, operation and maintenance of data processing facilities and management information systems for the use and benefit of the parties and othersi and, . WHEREAS, the consortium has further determined that a necessary adjunct of management information systems is providing information and data pertaining to health care options as part of employee benefits; and, WHEREAS, the members of LOGIS have determined through their Executive Committee that the management of information pertaining to health care options is interwoven with the selection and operation of such plans and that jointly contracting for such plan operation is a necessary and appropriate role for LOGISi and, WHEREAS, the City of Hopkins has determined that it is to its benefit to participate in LOGIS as an associate member with the initial intent of participating in the coordination of employee health care planning and service selectioni NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Hopkins authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute the LOGIS Joint and Cooperative Agreement, and appoints the city Manager and Finance Director to serve as its Director and Alternate Director respectively on the LOGIS Board of Directors.
