RESOLUTION NO. 85-3204
RESOLUTION ENDORSING PAUL JOYCE
FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE REGIONAL TRANSIT BOARD
WHEREAS, Paul Joyce has served on the Regional Transit
Board (RTB) since August, 1984 representing District M, which
includes the City of Hopkins, and
WHEREAS, Paul Joyce has provided excellent representation
for District M and has demonstrated leadership on many key
,c:) issues, and
WHEREAS, the Minesota Legislature has mandated a reduction
in the membership of the RTB from 14 members to 8 members,
and
WHEREAS, the Geographical Boundaries of proposed RTB District
G are very similar to those of District M, served by Paul Joyce,
then
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Hopkins, that Paul Joyce be endorsed as the best
candidate to represent District G on the Regional Transit Board,
based on his experience with the RTB and his knowledge of the
,~ District, and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Dirk DeVries, as Hopkins' represent-
ative to the Metropolitan Council be requested to present this
endorsement to the full Metropolitan Council fopr consideration.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins
at a regular meeting held the 16th day of July, 1985,
