MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, March 2, 2010
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:40 pm. Present were Mayor Maxwell and Council
Members, Brausen, Halverson, Youakim, Rowan and City Manager Rick Getschow.
OTHER:
• Council member Youakim asked about the home for sale on 5 th Ave that is part of the
Block 64 project. City Manager Getschow will follow up.
• Council member Rowan stated that the Caring Youth awards will be taking place on
Thursday, March 11 he is the council liaison that is handling that event.
• Council members and City Manager discussed the recent legislative session and issues
affecting Hopkins. The City legislative delegation will be at the March 9 th City Council
Work Session.
• City Manager Getschow stated that the August 10 Work Session will be cancelled due to
the fact that the state primary is now scheduled for that date.
• City Council and City Manager discussed applying for the next round of Hennepin County
youth recreation grant that is due at the end of March.
• City Manager Getschow provided an update to the City Council on SAFR. The program
will be under way at all area nursing homes within the next month.
• City Manager Getschow stated that the paperless packet project will start with the Council
meetings in April.
With no further business, a motion was made by Brausen, seconded by Youakim to adjourn the
meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 pm.
