AT CONCLUSION OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, October 4, 2011
Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 8:36 p.m. Present were Mayor Maxwell and
Council Members Brausen, Halverson, Rowan and Youakim and City Manager Mike Morrison
Council member Rowan congratulated staff for the successful grant application.
Council member Brausen discussed a problem rental property and passed concerns onto City
Manager Morrison.
Council member Youakim asked if staff could review the assessor's process to see if there is
ways those property owners that are consistently late to pay a larger penalty.
City Manager Mike Morrison provided the following update:
1. Kris Luedke is our new City Clerk.
2. Brent Johnson is our new Police Captain.
3. Police department received a grant in the amount of $246,000
4. Fire department received a grant in the amount of $30,000
5. Planning department Market Study grant of $13,000.
6. University students will be assisting city staff with the green step practices and
sustainability.
7. The first concert at the Art Center attracted 471 attendees.
8. Take 5 Tuesday starts on October 25tH
9. Reviewed a one-page goal setting with council.
10. Informed Council that he will be meeting with Jan Callison and staff on October 5, 2011.
11. Fire Department Open House is on October 15, 2011.
12. He will be speaking at the Historical Society annual meeting on October 23, 2011.
There being no further business Council member Halverson moved and Council Member
Youakim seconded a motion to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at
8:55 p.m.
