RESOLUTION NO. 2012-005
RESOLUTION ORDERING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, 2012 STREET
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 2011-10
WHEREAS, a resolution of the City Council adopted the 6th day of December, 2011
fixed a date for a Council Hearing on the proposed street improvements to 4th Street
North, Minnetonka Mills Road, 9th, 8th, and 6th Avenues North, Gethsemane Road, and
the alleys between 5th and 6th Avenues North and 2nd and 3rd Streets North and between
8th and 9th Avenues South and Mainstreet and 1St Street South, including asphalt roadway,
concrete curb and gutter installation and water, sanitary and storm sewer improvements
and all necessary appurtenances, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate and expedient to make such
improvements, and
WHEREAS, ten days mailed notice and two weeks published notice of the hearing was
given, and the hearing was held thereon on the 17th day of January, 2012 at which all
persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hopkins,
Minnesota:
1. Such improvement is necessary, cost-effective, and feasible as detailed in the
feasibility report.
2. Such improvement is hereby ordered as proposed in the Council Resolution
adopted the 17th day of January, 2012. The total estimated project cost is
$3,072,000.
3. Bolton and Menk, Inc. is hereby designated as the engineer for this improvement.
The engineer shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such
improvement.
