ORDINANCE NO. 85-558
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 82-506 ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING A SYSTEM OF CONTRACTOR LICENSING
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Hopkins as.
follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 82-506 is
hereby repealed and there is hereby enacted and adopted in
lieu thereof the following Section 5.
Section 5 OWNER RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITY. An owner
shall not be required to obtain a license under this
Ordinance, personally to perform any work in connection with
his residence or appurtenant structure including the right
of such owner to engage the services of any aides or
helpers, provided that such work shall be in compliance with
the various building and other relevant Codes and provided
further that such owner shall be responsible and liable for
any losses or liabilities which may arise or be caused by
such construction or by the violation of any requirements
under the applicable Statutes and Ordinances.
First read at a regular meeting for the Council of City of
Hopkins held on December 17, 1985 and finally read,
approved, adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting
of said Council of said City on January 7, 1986.
