RESOLUTION NO. 2012-062
RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISED PARK DEDICATION FEES
WHEREAS, the Hopkins City Code Section 500.75 provides for park dedication in
every plat, replat or subdivision of land allowing development or redevelopment, and
WHEREAS, Subd. 6 of City Code Section 500.75 gives the City the option to require a
cash contribution in lieu of land dedication and Subd. 7 provides that the contribution amount be
set by resolution of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the cost to meet the City's park system capital improvement needs increase
each year, and
WHEREAS, the current park dedication fee for residential development has not been
revised since 2003, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Hopkins, Minnesota that the Park Dedication Fee — cash contribution for residential development
or redevelopment be set at $1,500 per unit for projects of 3 or more multiple family residential
units.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Hopkins this 21s' day of August 2012.
