12-17-2013 CCA regular meeting of the Hopkins City Council was held on December 17, 2013, in the Council Chambers of the Hopkins City Hall. Present were Mayor Maxwell, Council Members Cummings, Gadd, Halverson and Youakim. Also, present were staff members Bradford, Elverum, Genellie, Stadler, and Morrison. I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Maxwell called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. II. PRESENTATION 1. Historical Society Mr. Norman Teigen addressed the Council and gave an overview of a Hopkins Historical Society research project involving Hopkins WWI veterans and what the City of Hopkins was like during this time period. Public input regarding the WWI project is welcome. Mr. Teigen highlighted the Hopkins Minnesota Through the Years historical book. III. CONSENT AGENDA 1. Minutes of the December 3, 2013 Council Meeting 2. Minutes of the December 3, 2013 Work Session Following the Council Meeting 3. Approve 2012-2014 HMEA Contract; (CR 2013-129) 4. Approve Amendment to the Site Lease Agreement Between the City of Hopkins and Sprint Spectrum Realty Company L.P to Allow for the Modification of their Communication Facilities at the Blake Water Tower Site; (CR 2013-131) 5. Adopt Resolution 2013-080, Authorizing the City to Enter into an Agreement with Hennepin County for the use of its Geographical Digitized Data; (CR 2013-130) Mr. Stadler and Mr. Bradford addressed the Council regarding Consent Agenda #4. The company contracted to maintain the water towers will oversee the modifications. Council Member Halverson moved and Council Member Gadd seconded a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. A poll of the vote was as follows: Council Member Cummings, aye; Council Member Gadd, aye; Council Member Halverson, aye; Council Member Youakim, aye; Mayor Maxwell, aye. The motion carried unanimously. IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS • 2014 Meeting Schedule Mr. Morrison reviewed the additions and changes to the 2014 City Council meeting schedule. • Mayor Maxwell congratulated Mr. Bradford on his new job with the City of Woodbury and thanked him for his years of service to the City of Hopkins. • Mayor Maxwell thanked city staff and council for their service to the Hopkins community in 2013. • Mayor Maxwell wished everyone Happy Holidays. VI. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Council Member Cummings moved and Council Member Youakim seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting.
